Best Budget-Friendly Tour Packages for Family Vacations

Ok so, planning a family trip is always exciting… until you look at your bank account and realise hmm maybe not this year . But don’t worry, not all trips have to be expensive, there’s a lot of packages that are budget-friendly and still super fun and relaxing (and also not boring, like some group tours lol).

So here’s some of the places and package ideas I know or seen friends/family go on that are good if your looking for a vacation that doesn’t empty your pocket. These aren’t sponsored or anything btw just what I’ve seen around or online.

1. Shimla – Manali Hill Station Tour (Classic one tbh)

Himachal Pradesh is always like top 3 when it comes to family trips. Manali, Shimla, Kufri – cold weather, mountains, and snow (if u go in winter).

  • You get hotel + cab + food + sightseeing in most packages

  • Avg cost: around 15-20k per person for 5-6 days

  • Good for: kids, oldies, literally everyone.

  • Some packages include rafting and paragliding but you gotta ask

One tip: book it before the school holidays, otherwise price goes mad and its super crowded.

2. Goa (Yes, it’s not just for party people lol)

Honestly people think Goa is for bachelors and drunk college trips but nooo, it can be super chill for family also. Beaches, sunsets, boat rides, churches — lots of family stuff.

  • Avg budget: 12k to 18k depending on hotel

  • North Goa is louder, South Goa more peaceful

  • They give sightseeing + breakfast + airport pickup mostly

One time we got a 3 night package for 14k per head including hotel + 2 days sightseeing. Not bad, right?

3. Delhi – Agra – Jaipur (aka Golden Triangle)

This one is more for families that like to see stuff and take lots of pics Monuments, history, old forts, spicy food… all of that.

  • You can cover it in 5-6 days

  • Price: 13k to 22k depending on where you stay

  • Kids may get bored after too many forts ngl but still worth it

Also pls avoid this in May-June unless you like being roasted alive . Go in winters, way better.

4. Kerala Tour – Backwaters, Hills & Houseboats

Kerala is seriously underrated. You got beaches, hills, wildlife, tea gardens and houseboats? Yes pls.

  • Budget: 20–30k per person for 5-6 days

  • Includes houseboat stay (best part!), food, cab, hotels

  • Great for chill family trip with not too much walking

Try to get a package that has Munnar + Thekkady + Alleppey combo. Also, kids love boat stays, it’s like floating hotel

5. Rajasthan Family Tour – Palaces & Culture

For those royal vibes without spending like royalty. Rajasthan has so much to see and also super colourful and fun for photos lol.

  • Udaipur, Jaipur, Jodhpur are the top spots

  • Price: Around 18–25k for 5-6 days

  • Some tour guys even include camel rides and folk dance night

But yea, lots of travel between cities so be ready for long cab rides. Pack snacks lol.

6. Andaman – Beach & Chill Family Tour

Ok this one is slightly costlier but still budget if you plan early. Super peaceful, clean beaches (not like overcrowded ones here), and some cool activities.

  • Budget: 25k–35k per person with flight + hotel + sightseeing

  • Includes Cellular Jail, Radhanagar Beach, ferry transfers

  • Kids can do glass-bottom boats and stuff

Don’t go in monsoon tho, lots of ferry cancelation risk.

Extra Tips (Not fancy, just real)

  • Book like 2-3 months in advance, last minute deals usually not that great for families

  • Some local agents (not online ones) give better rates, esp if you’re taking 4-5 people

  • Always ask what’s included, sometimes meals aren’t, or some places charge for “entry tickets” after

  • Group tours are cheaper but not always fun with kids — check before booking

  • Go slightly off-season if you can, prices drop a lot and less crowd too

Final Thoughts (not deep or anything)

You don’t need to be rich to have a good family trip. You just need to find the right deal and be smart about timing and bookings. There’s tons of affordable options, even in places you thought were expensive before. Just do some digging (or ask people who travel more than you, lol).

And ya, don’t overpack. Trust me. Every time we go anywhere, someone forgets toothpaste but brings 3 sweaters

So pick a spot, book the package, and go make some family memories already
